CMS POSITION #1
CENTERS FOR MEDICARE MANAGEMENT
The intern will work on PVRP measure development, data and program infrastructure development, payment policy development, legislative strategy development, and provider outreach and education. The intern will also work with hospital pay-for-performance workgroup and physician and hospital resource use (PHRU) workgroup.

CMS POSITION #2
CBC/MEDICARE DRUG BENEFIT GROUP (MDBG)
The intern would work with CMS staff responsible for the management and operation of the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit (part D) program. The responsibilities would include the creation and formatting of data sets, analysis, and written and oral presentations to MDBG staff.

CMS POSITION #3
OFFICE OF INFORMATION SERVICES, ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE AND STRATEGY GROUP, DIVISION OF RESOURCE AND ACQUISITION MANAGEMENT
The intern will maintain financial and accounting records, budget tracking, and preparing budget documents for presentations. Contacts are with wide variety of individuals and groups usually in an unstructured setting. Contacts are with staff throughout CMS as well as managers and executives within the agency; financial and accounting analysts.

CMS POSITION #4
OFFICE OF INFORMATION SERVICES
The intern will report to the Enterprise Data Center (EDC) Group’s Program Management Office (PMO) and will support projects under the EDC’s sphere influence. The intern will also interface with CMS components that are key stakeholders to projects supported by the EDC-PMO and work collaboratively with each of the Enterprise Data Center Trusted Partner organizations.

CMS POSITION #5
CBC/MAG/DB
The intern duties would include assisting in developing spreadsheets that include information on Medicare Advantage benefits packages or financial review information, reviewing and drafting documents relating to Medicare Advantage, including drafting preliminary responses to questions raised about benefits.

CMS POSITION #6
CBC/MDBG/DDBP
The intern would be assigned to work on this application review project. It is an opportunity for the intern to learn first-hand about Part D policies, regulations, and operations; the mechanics of contracting with the Federal government, and to apply this newly gained knowledge to a real-world, high profile project.

CMS POSITION #7
CENTER FOR BENEFICIARY CHOICES/MEDICARE ADVANTAGE GROUP/DIVISION OF PLAN POLICY
The intern duties would include assisting in developing of program, instructive and educational materials for use by elderly and disable, reviewing materials intended for elderly and disabled, developing guidelines for simple language writing, and evaluating materials for specific reading levels.

CMS POSITION #8
CENTER FOR BENEFICIARY CHOICES/MEDICARE ADVANTAGE GROUP/DIVISION OF PLAN POLICY
The intern duties would include assisting in developing and interpreting policy for the Medicare Advantage and other private health plan types, researching statute, regulatory or manual guidance, developing position or option papers based on research, reviewing and proofreading manual edits, policy papers and other types of guidance, and compiling and analyzing data related to managed health care.

CMS POSITION #9
OIS/EASG/DPC
The intern will be working with the administration, coordination execution and maintenance for all Interagency Agreement may require some Accounting background but would not be necessarily a requirement. The intern would also be trained in the privacy requirements associated with the execution of Data Use Agreement.

CMS POSITION #10
CENTERS FOR MEDICARE MANAGEMENT, CHRONIC CARE POLICY GROUP, DIVISION OF INSTITUTIONAL POST ACUTE CARE
The intern will be working with experienced DIPC staff in the development of policies, which ensure accurate and predictable payments in skilled nursing homes (SNFs) and inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs). The position involves supporting policy development of Fiscal year 2008 payment regulation and performing statistical data analysis of pertinent CMS datasets.

CMS POSITION #11
CENTER FOR BENEFICIARY CHOICES/MEDICARE ADVANTAGE GROUP/DIVISION OF SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The intern duties include assisting in developing and interpreting policy, and reviewing applications for contracting, and providing day-to-day technical support to Special Needs Plans (SNPs). Moreover, intern will be assisting in reviewing and approving new SNP applications, and providing technical assistance to the industry offering special need plans as well as reviewing and proofreading manual edits, policy papers and other types of guidance, and compiling and analyzing data related to managed health care.
