*Need Intern Credit?*

Have you found the internship of your dreams on your own, but just don't know how to get credit for it? Do you want a notation on your transcript for all your hard work, but are unsure how to proceed?
Well look no further! The staff at the UMBC Shriver Center is here to help!
Best of all, if you found an internship or co-op on your own for the spring, you can get the notation on your transcript - and be on your way to possibly receiving credit - FREE OF CHARGE. That's right, the fee for all converted Spring 2007 internships and co-ops* has officially been waived!
IN ORDER TO GET YOUR INTERNSHIP CONVERTED TO AN OFFICIAL SHRIVER CENTER INTERNSHIP:

1. Either call (410-455-2493) or stop by the Shriver Center on the
ground floor of the Public Policy Building to make an appointment
with the appropriate Coordinator for your major.
2. Visit http://www.shrivercenter.org/student_obtainingcredit.html
and scroll down to the section entitled “Get your Internship or
Co-op Recognized” that details the conversion process for you.
3. Download and have your supervisor sign the Employer Agreement
found at the above link and obtain verification for your placement
by getting a letter from your employer (on company letterhead)
verifying that you are interning 8-10 hours per week.
4. Meet with your Coordinator to get enrolled in the Practicum (to
have the notation put on your transcript as a university
sanctioned experience) and have your potential credit options
explained to you.
5. Enjoy your internship!
