Project Support Specialist Intern- a2z, Inc.

a2z is looking for a high-energy individual to join them as a Project Support Specialist supporting one or more Project Managers. The position involves hands-on execution and managing the technical aspects of product deployments.

Long-term internships are preferred: Seniors graduating in Dec ’07 and May ’08 are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:


• Understand, communicate and utilize the Product Development Life Cycle
• Assist Project Managers with projects and maintain high level Project plan
• Maintain highest level of subject matter expertise related to product on both a technical and business level
• Learn to
o Identify cross functional project resources and manage their deliverables
o Recommend functional solutions to clients and users
o Track progress of testing and participate as necessary in business acceptance testing
o Drive generation of complete business requirements document
o Generate new ideas and/or new ways to implement the ideas
o Juggle multiple projects and managing resources in a deadline-driven production environment
o Estimate completion times for project milestones and other assigned tasks
o Keep projects on schedule, ensuring milestones are met, and changes in schedule or project scope are documented, communicated to, and approved by the client, your team and upper management
o Interface with clients to understand their needs and secure appropriate project buy-in/sign-off throughout Life Cycle

General Qualifications:
• Senior with major in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related majors
• Good skills in writing technical and business requirements
• The ability to multi-task successfully is essential
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong Analytical skills
• Live within comfortable commuting distance from Columbia MD office

Technical Skills needed:
• Familiarity with database applications, Active Server Pages, HTML.
• Experience with Systems Design, .NET, Active Server pages, Databases, CAD (Computer Aided Design) and Photoshop a plus
