Spring and Summer IT internships at Legg Mason

Legg Mason's Internal Audit Department is currently seeking spring and summer IT Audit Interns to work in the downtown Baltimore office. The IT Audit Intern, working under the supervision of the IT Internal Audit Manager, will participate in planning and performance of risk assessments to determine the objectives and scope of each assigned audit and assist with development of audit programs and changes to the program. Will perform detailed audit procedures as set forth in the audit program, ensuring that the audit objectives are met and prepare clear, concise and well-documented work papers evidencing the testing performed and related results. Will also evaluate the audit results and develop recommendations to address the deficiencies, weaknesses, and areas of concern noted during the performance of the audit and assist in preparation of audit reports. Other duties as required.

Ideal candidates will be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree concentrating on Accounting, Business Technology Administration, MIS, Computer Science, or IT related discipline. Candidate will have a strong interest in an auditing career. Coursework in Information Systems/Technology is required, and Intermediate Accounting is a plus. This person must have proficiency in MS Word and Excel, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and an inquisitive nature. Must possess strong analytical, oral and written communication skills. Interns must also be able to commute to our downtown Baltimore location, and a time commitment of 15 hours per week is expected for spring interns or 35 hours for summer interns. EOE.
