So Your Fall Schedule Is Set....

...and you realize that you have a pocket of time here and there. What to do with it? Why not do something fun off campus working with others? The Shriver Center recognizes that UMBC has an impressive student body, often seeking out ways to get involved. Be aware that you must sign up before October 10th in order to be enrolled in a zero credit 096 Practicum this Fall 2007.

Available Fall 2007 Service-Learning Sites to participate in:

Adult Literacy Program (ALP) serves adult learners at The Learning Bank in Baltimore City. ALP times are flexible. Takes place Wednesday mornings from 9:00 am-12:00 pm and Thursday nights from 5:30-8:30 pm.

College Gardens Youth Program is an after school program for children in Baltimore City. Participants tutor and assist with a variety of activities (Monday/ Wednesday or Tuesday/ Thursday, 2:15-5:45 pm)

MS Swim assists with water-based physical activity for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis Fridays & Sundays 1-4 pm

Project Team works with youth to stress teamwork and unity through fun and creative group activities. The program takes place from 4-7pm each week.

Educational Based Latino Outreach works with children in Baltimore City. Participants tutor and assist with a variety of activities Saturdays 9:00 am -1:45 pm

Local Elementary & Middle Schools who are flexible with hours during the school day.
