Top Tips for Getting from the Classroom to the Boardroom

Guest Speaker: Howard Block, Founder and Principal, NuWave Solutions, LLC

Come listen to alumnus Howard Block tell his story about his journey from UMBC to founding NuWave Solutions, LLC. Using David Letterman format, Howard will share his "Top 10 Tips" to assist students in planning a successful career in the computer field, as well as lessons learned about starting a computer consulting company.

Howard has over 22 years of software development, project management, systems integration and consulting experience. He is a nationally recognized Internet technology and J2EE expert, and is a frequent guest speaker at conferences held by BEA Systems, SilverStream
and PowerBuilder. He is also the co-author of several books in the information technology field.
NuWave Solutions, LLC specializes in solving business problems through use of innovative technology solutions. Clients include: American Chemical Society, BAE, Booz Allen, Dupont, Department of Defense, Goldman Sachs, IRS, Radian, Inc., and the Smithsonian Institute.
