The Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter, Inc. (BARCS), formerly known as the City Pound, needs volunteers to help with dogs and cats waiting to be adopted. Their biggest need are dogwalkers during the weekdays (weekends needed, too)! There are also a few positions open for "cat socialization," 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. BARCS is 15 minutes from UMBC in South Baltimore. For more about BARCS, visit http://www.baltimoreanimalshelter.org.
As a sanctioned service-learning opportunity, participating students will receive a transcript notation recognizing their efforts.
Volunteers must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have health insurance
- Have proof of recent TB test
