PAID YOUTH EMPLOYMENT INTERN NEEDED FOR THE SHRIVER CENTER'S CHOICE PROGRAM

Pay $750 to $1500 Stipend
The UMBC Shriver Center Service-Learning Department is seeking energetic and committed college students to fill the position as Youth Employment Training Coordinator. It is a time commitment of approximately 8-20 per week. BRIDGE (Building Resiliency and Independence through Developing Gainful Employment) Project, a partnership between the Choice Program and Baltimore County Public Libraries, provides mentoring and employment readiness training to youth ages fourteen to eighteen. BRIDGE provides Baltimore youth in eight week employment preparation workshops at Essex, North point and Lansdowne Public Libraries. The youth are engaged in workshops for two hours each night comprised of short lectures, interactive activities and volunteer engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Facilitates youth participation in the training workshops
• Tracking youth and volunteer attendance
• Managing the incentive plan
• Making routine copies
• Other general support duties

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Have transportation to and from the program site

INTERNS WORKING in
- Lansdowne will be asked to work each Sat. from 2:30 to 4:30 pm
- Essex will be asked to work each Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 pm
- Dundalk/North Point will be asked to work each Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 pm
