Scavenger Hunt For Treats On Friday, February 1st

Finish your first week back to UMBC for the spring semester with a Scavenger Hunt for treats! On Friday, February 1st from 10 am - 2 pm, leading offices on UMBC's campus for volunteerism/community service/service-learning will host this walk-in event to provide you with cookies, brownies, or cake (yes, you read that right!)!

UMBC Serves is made up of The Office of Student Life, The Department of Athletics, Residential Life, Student Orgs Who Serve (SOWS), and The Shriver Center. This group meets monthly to streamline planning, marketing, and implementation of "service-related" events on campus. UMBC Serves works to ensure that UMBC is at the front line of positively impacting our community and the greater Baltimore region.

Visit The Office of Student Life at the Commons 2B24, the RAC, and The Shriver Center on Friday, February 1st between 10am-2pm to learn more about how to make a difference working with such populations/issues as (but not limited to):

- children
- animal welfare
- homelessness
- blood drives
- environment
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- linking resources in community/clinic settings

Offices provide a range of opportunities to get involved, from one-time community service events to participating weekly and receiving a notation on your transcript noting "service" (The Shriver Center).

NO RSVP Needed! Let UMBC Serves Serve You! Look out for info distributed in your dorms by Res Life. For more info, contact the various offices or Jordanna Spencer at spence2@umbc.edu. Also check out http://www.umbc.edu/umbcserves.
