Scholarships Available For Service-minded Students!

The France and Merrick Scholarship, administered by The Shriver Center at UMBC, provides educational funding for students with strong academic records and a commitment to community service. Award winners participate in at least one group service project each semester, along with individual service commitments. The Shriver Center is currently accepting applications for openings for strong leaders in service for 2 Fellows positions and 3-5 Scholars positions.

Fellows receive a full scholarship, including tuition, mandatory fees, and room & board. The Fellows serve as co-chairs in convening group meetings, planning and participating in service projects for the France and Merrick Scholarship Program.
Scholars receive $1,000 for the year and attend group meetings to assist in planning and participating in service projects each semester.

Applications are now available for 2008-2009! Go to The Shriver Center, the 1st floor of the Public Policy Building or download them at http://www.shrivercenter.org/service_france.html.

Applications must be RECEIVED by Friday, April 18th, 2008.
