Scholarships for Service!

The France and Merrick Scholarship, administered by the Shriver Center at UMBC, provides educational funding for students with strong academic records and a commitment to community service. Award winners participate in at least one group service project each semester, along with individual service commitments.

Fellows receive a full scholarship, including tuition, mandatory fees, and room & board. The Fellows also serve as co-chairs in convening group meetings and planning service projects for the France and Merrick Scholarship Program.
Scholars receive $1,000 for the year and attend group meetings, assisting in planning service projects each semester.

The Shriver Center is currently accepting applications for 2 Fellows positions and 3-5 Scholars positions.

Applications are now available for 2008-2009 at the front desk of The Shriver Center, the 1st floor of the Public Policy Building. Applications must be submitted by Friday, April 18, 2008.
