April 27 - May 3rd is National Volunteer Week. UMBC is taking it a step further by adding on an extra day with Sunday, May 4th. Come to any event and get a t-shirt while helping serve our community. Working with kids, cleaning up the environment or learning about ways to serve will all be part of our events! Check out the calendar and email the contact for that day's event to sign up: http://www.umbc.edu/umbcserves/files/Volunteer%20Week%20Flier.pdf
Come check out the amazing list of ways that you can get involved next week, both on and off campus when UMBC showcases the amazing service being completed through great partnerships.
UMBC recently received a prestigious award through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) for the 2007 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction. CNCS is the umbrella organization over AmeriCorps, VISTA, and Learn and Serve. It's not a surprise then that UMBC joins the celebration for next week's National VOLUNTEER WEEK.
