PAID GIS Intern Needed

PAID PART-TIME INTERN NEEDED AT THE MD DEPT OF PLANNING

The intern will assist in GIS mapping, data collections, planning information analysis for evaluating transit supportive land use policies, regulations, and development practices in metro Baltimore and Washington regions, southern Maryland, and other areas. The intern will learn and enhance use of planning tools (e.g., GIS and database, maps and charts).

This intern will have opportunities to expose and assist in other MDP's transportation planning tasks including Smart Growth related researches and analyses, land use and transportation GIS/modeling analyses including residential and/or developer location choice related to transportation accessibility, and transportation planning analyses at local, regional and state levels.

Required basic skills: Proficiency in GIS, Excel program, and basic knowledge of smart growth and transportation planning.
