Transfer Students Needed to Transfer Their Skills...

There is a new and exciting service-learning course that has just been added to the books for fall 2008: BIOL 390/CMSC 391A, Tuesdays 11:30 am-12:45 pm. This 3-credit course is designed to bridge concepts of learning with current realities in the work place. Students will be placed in service sites throughout the Baltimore region (schools, non-profits organizations, etc.) 3-5 hour/week while at the same time learning skills and enhancing professional development.

Transfer students (with at least 30 credits coming into UMBC), particularly Biology and/or Computer Science majors are strongly encouraged to participate. Develop a greater awareness of your professional field while serving others! For more info, contact instructor Tom Penniston at (410) 455-2493 or pthomas1@umbc.edu.
