ExxonMobil Seeking Chemical and Mechanical Engineering Interns: DEADLINE EXTENDED

ExxonMobil is seeking engineering candidates for summer internships who have strong academic achievements, good relevant work experience to their profession, motivation and leadership. Positions are located in LA, VA, CA, IL, TX, NJ.

Most of the internship positions are for BS/MS Chemical and Mechanical Engineers students. ExxonMobil is also very interested in hiring interns with project management experience.

Minimum GPA: 3.5

Resumes must be submitted thru UMBCworks by October 3 to be considered for interviews at UMBC on October 13th.

Work Description for a student in a BS or MS in Chemical Engineering program will work with the premier petroleum company in the world in areas of: Upstream Development, Upstream Production, Upstream Research, Downstream Refining and Supply, Downstream Research & Engineering, Chemicals, Global Services

Initial assignments enable Chemical Engineers to act as combination engineers, scientists, economists, market development specialists and business executives. You'll work to improve efficiencies and analyze deviations from desired operations. You'll assist in developing new technology, plant consulting, and process basis setting for major capital projects. And you'll help identify and screen alternatives to improve existing operations or to design and build new operations.

Work Description for a student earning a BS or MS in Mechanical engineering: Gain experience in Chemical plants, Marketing organization, Pipeline, Production, *Global Shared Services, Refining organizations

You could be assigned to: Working with operating units to improve efficiencies and analyze operations, Having project responsibility from detailed design through construction to start-up, *Specializing in maintenance, design engineering and construction, Supporting the extraction and processing of hydrocarbons from subsurface formations including all phases of well drilling, Construction and maintenance of distribution facilities, Working internally or with suppliers to evaluate new technology
