Local Conference on Civic Engagement and Service

This year's local Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Conference "Stewards of Place: Connecting Campus to Community" will be hosted at the University of Baltimore on Saturday, April 4th from 9am-3:30 pm. It's co-sponsored by UMBC, the Baltimore Collegetown Network, and the newly formed Maryland Campus Compact and is strongly shaped by last year's "Solutions Through Service" Conference hosted at UMBC in April 2008.

College students, staff, and faculty are expected to attend from all over Maryland (potentially 20 institutions of higher education), and registration is limited. Registration is open until the event fills up (estimated 175 attendees). This event is FREE for UMBC students ($5 cost covered by The Shriver Center). Transportation will be provided pending sufficient notice to ensure that we have space.

To find out more and register, go to: http://www.ubalt.edu/template.cfm?page=2949

After you register, you will receive a "Registration Confirmation" that directs you to contact your respective Program Coordinator, either Lori Hardesty at lhardesty@umbc.edu or Clare Greene at clare6@umbc.edu to plan for registration fee and transportation coverage.
