NSA seeks Computer Science & Computer Engineering Interns for FALL 2009

An internship with NSA provides an opportunity for you to enhance your skills in an assignment that relates to your Computer Science or Computer Engineering major, including Computer Network Operations, Informations Systems Security, and Information Assurance, while learning in an exciting high-tech environment.

Application Deadline
The application period for the fall semester runs from January 1st through March 15th of each year. The application period for the spring semester runs from April 1st through June 15th of each year. For 2009, the application period has been extended to March 31.

About the Program
The Semester Intern Program for Science and Technology is a full time 16-week program open to select college juniors who are concentrating their studies in the disciplines of Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Interns are assigned to projects that contribute to NSA's mission. Areas of interest include:
Cyber Security
Wireless Communications
Software Engineering
Project Management
Systems Research
Information Technology
Information Systems Security
Electronic Data Optimization

Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be eligible to be granted a security clearance
A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred
Must be a college junior or have at least college junior status (high potential sophomores may also be considered)
Must be eligible to be granted a security clearance

Salary
Students are paid a competitive salary commensurate with their education level.

Receive annual and sick leave, federal holidays
Participation in Agency-wide extracurricular programs
Those who attend schools in excess of 75 miles from Fort Meade, MD, are eligible for a round trip airline ticket to and from school or mileage reimbursement up to the cost of a government issued airline ticket.
