Federal Reserve Board Seeking PAID Photography Intern!

The Photographers Assistant Intern provides support to the Board’s staff photographer and will be responsible for photographing routine assignments autonomously, working as part of a shooting team for large events, and assisting with studio and location photography. The Assistant will perform image post processing functions, including proofing, printing, large format printing, basic touch-up, color correction, scaling, and filing. The Photographic Assistant will create both online and DVD based gallery and image presentation packages, and will help maintain photo databases by attaching keyword information to archived image files to allow the databases to be searchable. The Assistant is responsible for matting and framing new photographs and repairing frames and images already displayed at the Board. Additionally, the Assistant will support Graphic Center designers work by providing general project support where needed.

Qualifications

Position requires a strong grounding in traditional photography, using both digital and film based technologies. Candidates should have basic working knowledge of photographic studio workflow practices. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite products, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Lightroom, are a must. Familiarity with photographic presentation techniques, including traditional matting and framing as well as digital presentation, is required. Candidates should be prepared to show a portfolio of their photographic work and discuss the techniques used to create the images contained in the portfolio.
