TOPS at University of MD, School of Medicine seeks HEALTH EDUCATOR/RESEARCH INTERNS
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Division of Growth and Nutrition within the Department of Pediatrics under the guidance of Dr. Maureen Black. We are seeking interns to assist health educators for TOPS, a toddler overweight prevention study. The project focuses on the dietary, physical activity, and growth patterns of toddlers.
The health educator assistants will be responsible for helping facilitate parent groups on topics pertaining to nutrition, physical activity, parenting skills, and child safety. Other responsibilities may include attending weekly meetings, contacting participants via the phone, transporting class materials, classroom set up, scheduling meeting times, data entry, filing, and other office duties. In addition, this person will have the opportunity to work in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team of faculty at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. This is a 10-hour per week position.
