Information Technology is the key enabler for GE to compete and win in our broad range of global industries. The Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP) is a key entry point for information management professionals in GE. This program is designed to attract high potential information technology candidates and to further develop their technical skills, leadership abilities and business acumen as they transition from academia to the working world.

The purpose of IMLP is to provide a pipeline of information management leadership talent for GE's businesses. IMLP accelerates development of entry-level talent and produces leaders capable of meeting the challenges facing the IT function at GE. IMLP is a 2-year program that allows members to hone their leadership, business and technical skills through four challenging six-month assignments and world-class training. The job assignments and training are designed to provide hands-on IT experience on GE's strategic initiatives.

IMLPs will be placed at one of the following businesses based on availability of positions, the interviewers assessment and the applicant's preference (indicated in the online application):

Position Description:
Intern assignments, generally 10 -12 weeks, typically focus on vital business processes such as:

*Digitization projects
*Electronic commerce
*New product introduction
*Order, ship, bill
*Sales force effectiveness.

Possible assignments may include:

*Project management,
*Application development,
*Systems management
*Business process re-engineering,
*Infrastructure management,
*Security/controllership,
*Business analysis and
*Customer support.

The assignments are also designed to expose program participants to using Six Sigma methodologies to solve complex business problems and to the following technologies:

*Networking design,
*Client server applications
*Systems integration
*Web development
*Groupware, and enterprise system implementations (ORACLE or other)

Successful internships may lead to full-time program opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:
*Candidate must be enrolled and in good academic standing in a minimum of a four-year technical degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business.
*GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0
*Unrestricted authorization to work in the US (please see below for clarification)
*Geographic mobility (this is a rotational program and locations vary by business)
