Intern On-Campus and Get Paid - UMBC Entrepreneur Intern Program

4 positions just became open which pay a $1500 stipend for 150 hours of work- $10 per hour
These positions are part of the UMBC Entrepreneur Intern Program and best of all the companies are located on campus in either the UMBC Research Park or Tech Center.

POSITION 1
Organization: Aurora Analytics LLC (http://www.auroraanalytics.com)
Position: UMBC Entrepreneur Intern (position ID 9235660)
Majors Requested: CHEMISTRY, BIOCHEMISTRY, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
Intern projects/duties include:
Aurora is a contract services and product development company focused on the development of food quality indicator devices using a proprietary amine detection technology. The intern would be involved in Aurora’s R&D program for the development of a diagnostic test for spoilage in seafood, including efforts to manufacture and commercialize the core chemical component of the test kit. The project is multi-disciplinary and requires efforts in organic as well as analytical chemistry. Under the direction of Dr. Kalivretenos, the intern would carry out solid and solution-phase organic synthesis to prepare the detection agents. The intern would use these agents to tag amine compounds (found in spoiled seafood) and analyze the products.

Position: UMBC Entrepreneur Intern (position ID 9235642)
Majors Requested: IFSM, CMSC, CMPE, ENEE, but all majors are welcome if the individual has an appropriate technical background and interests.
Intern projects/duties include:
Cybergroup, Inc., founded in 1994, is a leading provider of Internet / Intranet technology solutions that enhance communications and commerce between organizations and their customers, suppliers, and other constituencies. We provide a comprehensive range of Internet and Intranet Web site solutions and services, with a primary focus on Web to database integration.

An intern is needed in to complete the following:
Assist in the development of Web applications and database integration with Web applications. Position requires a significant proficiency in HTML, some experience with scripting languages such as PHP, RoR, Python, ASP.net, or ColdFusion. Knowledge of SQL and databases such as MySQL or SQLServer is a plus.

POSITION 3
Organization: Quantum Medical Metrics, LLC (http://www.qmminc.com)
Position: UMBC Entrepreneur Intern (position ID 9235656)
Majors Requested: Physics, Engineering, and Computer science
Intern projects/duties include:
The company is involved in research, development and production of x-ray spectral imaging systems and advanced quantitative imaging algorithms for the diagnosis and monitoring of human musculoskeletal disease. The inter will assist with a research project involved in development of x-ray medical imaging system. Both hardware and software skills are required. Lab experiences also preferred.

POSITION 4
Organization: Solvern Innovations (http://www.solvern.com/)
Position: UMBC Entrepreneur Intern (position ID 9235594)
Majors Requested: Finance, Information Systems, Systems Admin, and Software Development
Intern projects/duties include:
Solvern Innovations, a bwtech@UMBC Research Park company that specializes in comprehensive research and development products and solutions, acquisition and business management services, and training and technology development, has established a Center of Excellence. The Center, located one floor below the company’s headquarters, will train Department of Defense employees and contractors in business management, acquisition, logistics and procurement processes..

Intern are needed in the following area- Systems Admin- System Administrators with skills in VMWare, Virtualization, and Ops Ware experience across Windows/Linux/Unix Operation Systems.

Senior Curriculum Developers- must be familiar with NCS/ADET development techniques and requirements

CBT Developers- familiar with development in FLASH.
