UMBC joins many others fighting for a great cause with the American Heart Association's 2009 Start! Baltimore Heart Walk to raise funds to fight the nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers—heart disease and stroke. UMBC joins other area colleges and universities to show support and to make a difference.
Come join other UMBC students and staff on Saturday, October 24th in Baltimore to raise awareness through a 3 mile walk throughout Federal Hill (near the Inner Harbor). Raise funds as an individual or create your own team! Regardless, all efforts as "UMBC" will have an impact! Signing up is fast, easy, and secure - go to http://www.startgreaterbaltimoremd.org./ to register and seek out UMBC (which you might find under "Company").
The event is 8:30am-12pm, which includes registration, celebrations, and the actual walk. Transportation to and from the event will be provided for those who join Team UMBC on a first come, first served basis. You must contact Lori Hardesty, Program Coordinator, by Wednesday, October 14th at lhardesty@umbc.edu to secure your place.
Show everyone the power that UMBC has to make a difference!
