The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is recruiting for an Outreach Intern in the Community Affairs Department. The position will be located in Baltimore, MD. This internship offers
an opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals and gain an understanding of community development finance, the Federal Reserve System and a broad range of community revitalization issues. The intern will have the opportunity to develop research, writing, program and policy planning and implementation skills.
This is a part time position (no benefits) that will begin as early as October 2009 and will end during the academic semester. The work schedule for the position will average 16-20 hours per week; however, flexibility to alter work schedule, as needed, is desired.
Essential Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Research and help develop initiatives dealing with the challenges facing low- and moderate- income individuals and communities.
- Help plan and manage events including meetings and workshops.
- Research and write brief pieces for publications or website on best policy practices.
- Other special projects as needed.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Must be currently enrolled graduate student, preferably pursuing a degree in public policy, political science, urban studies or urban planning.
- Maintains a minimum 3.2 GPA.
