Biological Research Internship on Kidney Disease

This lab works on human inherited kidney disease. We use a combination of techniques including mouse model, cell culture, and cell biology and molecular biology to study it. Possible projects for the research intern include: 1) Identify proteins that keep the kidney in its normal function (Western blot, immunoprecipitation, tag-technology, immunofluorenscene ); 2) Developing new antibodies against cystoproteins (these are proteins that, if mutated, cause cystic kidney); 3) Identifying pathways that some of the kidney proteins are involved.

Candidates will work under direct supervision of a postdoctoral fellow at the lab for a duration of -3 months; (the time could be longer if desired). This will ensure that the candidate will not only acquire the knowledge and technique, but also have the chance to some experiments on his/her own.
