Internships are a key strategy in the Electronic Systems (ES) sector college recruiting program. The purpose of the ES Summer Intern Program is to identify and hire students for summer and part-time jobs early in their academic careers, with the potential of their receiving full-time job offers during their final year of school.

In general, engineering/technical intern candidates must: 1) Be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree (or higher level) college/university program in an engineering/ technical major; 2) Have completed at least their sophomore year; 3) Have at least a 3.0/4.0 overall GPA; 4) Be available to work for 10 weeks during the summer 2010 semester, and 5) Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite; a current clearance is helpful, but not required). In most cases, intern candidates major in one of the following engineering curricula: Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Computer Science/Software, Systems, Industrial/ Manufacturing, Engineering Physics, or related area. Many of our software/computer science internships involve real-time embedded systems, so some background in that area is helpful. Exposure to radar & other sensor technologies and/or RF/microwave/communications applications is also potentially useful.
