What: During the ten-week paid summer program, interns will engage in a variety of activities related to processing, managing, and interpreting archival collections. Individual intern assignments will vary, but duties may include electronic imaging, scanning, image processing, computer programming, record stripping, accessioning, web design, research, or writing. The intern program includes a heavy focus on the application of computer technology to
both the historical method and archival practice. Some assignments may require regular off-site work. Interns will receive an hourly wage, paid bi-weekly.
Hourly rates are based on education level: high school at $8.70 per hour, undergraduate at $10.63 per hour, and graduate at $11.25 per hour.

When: Wednesday, June 2 - Tuesday, August 10, 2010

We will attempt to notify candidates of decisions on Monday, April 26, 2010. It is not necessary to be a history major to participate in the program, and students of other disciplines are encouraged to apply.
