Center for Urban Environmental Research and Education at UMBC seeks an On Campus Undergraduate Research Intern

Part-time, 12-15 hrs per wk, $10 per hour

Preferred majors: Chemical & Biochemical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography & Environmental Systems, Marine-Estuarine- Environmental Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Atmospheric

Minimum GPA: 3.0

Special Skills : Students must have as a career goal interest in the fields of environmental science or environmental engineering. Quantitative skills or interest in attaining them are required.

Position Description: CUERE, a research center on campus at UMBC, seeks one undergraduate student (interested in advancing his/her environmental science or engineering career) for part-time, entry-level lab/field/computational (paid) work at CUERE, 12-15 hours per week. No experience is necessary. Entering freshman or sophomore level is preferred, but entering juniors will also be considered. Tasks include calibrating rain gages in the laboratory; assisting CUERE faculty, staff, and graduate students in the field, and carrying out quality control of hydrologic data sets. Work hours are scheduled between 8 AM - 6 PM, M-F. Student availability should be in at least 4-hour chunks, owing to the nature of the work.
