The Baltimore Child Abuse Center was established in 1987 to lessen the trauma that children experience during an investigation of child sexual abuse. To this end, BCAC's mission is to provide all reported victims of child sexual abuse and their non-offending caretakers with comprehensive interviews including forensic medical examinations for the children, treatment referral, crisis counseling services, and referral to community resources, as well as expanded prevention, intervention, and aftercare services.
