Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship: Making a Difference that Matters

James Piper Bond, the founder, president, and CEO of Baltimore's Living Classrooms Foundation Presents: "Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship: Making a Difference that Matters"

November 28th, 12-1pm, UC 310

This event, part of the Entrepreneurship Speaker Series, is the first Kauffman Grant funded speaker co-sponsored by the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Mr. Bond is also the first series presenter to talk about social entrepreneurship as part of the Kauffman initiative. The Living Classrooms Foundation is a non-profit organization, operated for the benefit of the community at large, providing hands-on education and job skills training for students from diverse backgrounds, with a special emphasis on serving at-risk youth.

The Foundation uses maritime settings, community revitalization projects and other challenging learning environments in "learning by doing " education programs that emphasize the applied learning of math, science, literacy, history, economics, and econology. Key objectives of all Living Classrooms programs are career development, community service, and fostering multicultural exchange.
