For those interested in additional details:

Krav Maga (Hebrew for contact combat) is the official self-defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces and has been taught to hundreds of law enforcement agencies and thousands of civilians around the world. Krav Maga is a simple, effective self-defense system that emphasizes instinctive movements, practical techniques, and realistic training scenarios.

Krav Maga focuses on defending oneself in less than ideal situations (e.g. limited space, being surprised, confusion, bigger opponents, guns and knives, etc.), building on instinctive reactions (so that one can begin to effectively defend oneself without extensive training and conditioning), inflicting the most pain possible on one's opponent in the least amount of time (e.g. groin strikes, head butts, elbows, etc.) and universality (the techniques are designed to be useful to people of all ages, sizes, genders, and strengths).

Moshe Katz who is a fourth degree black belt in Krav Maga and who is on tour from Israel will instruct this workshop. He has been teaching since 1993, and is a former trainer of Israel's Counter Terror Force. Moshe has also been certified in hand gun and urban combat shooting. In addition to his school, he teaches self-defense to security guards in Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Police force, the Women's Martial Arts Association, and a basic street survival course to college groups.
