McNair Scholars Program

The McNair Scholars Program provides experiences that prepare undergraduate students for graduate study. It is designed to prepare first-generation, low-income, and students who are under-represneted in graduate education for doctoral studies through involvement in research,
mentoring, and other scholarly activities. UMBC students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply by the November 5, 2007 deadline:

Minimum 2.7 GPA
U.S. citizen or permanent resident
At least Sophomore standing
First-generation to attend college AND low-income (as determined by the
program) OR
Member of a group who is underrepresented in graduate education

The Deadline to submit an application for the McNair Scholars Program is Monday, November 5, 2007. Please contact Dr. April L.
