We invite you to help us honor the commitment, leadership and dedication of UMBC's finest student leaders, student organizations and student events. Please spread the word broadly!

The 2008 Retriever Black and Gold Awards will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 6 pm in the Commons Skylight Room. Join us for a fun-filled, celebratory program to commemorate the significance of involvement and leadership at UMBC.
Take Time to Nominate!
We invite you to nominate a deserving individual, student organization or student event for an award! Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to submit nominations, and self-nominations are also accepted. Nominees should be affiliated with UMBC and meet the criteria for each award. Nominations must be submitted online by Wednesday, April 16th, 2008.

Awards will be given in the following categories:

Student Organization Advisor of the Year
Emerging Leader of the Year
Senior Leader of the Year
Individual Commitment to Service
Outstanding Involvement or Event by a Student Organization Awards:

Group Commitment to Service

Educational Event of the Year
Social Event of the Year
Cultural/Diversity Event of the Year
Best Co-Sponsorship Event of the Year
The awards selection committee comprised of students and staff from the Office of Student Life will review all nominations and select the outstanding leaders or programs in each category. All nominees will be recognized at the leadership ceremony and will receive a certificate and a copy of their nomination.
