YAHOO! NAMES UMBC ONE OF "AMERICA'S 100 MOST WIRED COLLEGES"

Baltimore - Yahoo! Internet Life magazine has named the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) as one of "America's 100 Most Wired Colleges," in its annual survey and detailed guide to Internet and Web use in higher education.

UMBC was ranked 76th and was one of only two Maryland universities to be recognized. Loyola College in Maryland was ranked 53rd. Two other regional schools also made the list: George Mason University (80) and the University of Virginia (48).

Yahoo! Internet Life gave UMBC an overall survey rating of 70.27 out of 100 possible points. The magazine pointed out that according to the National Science Foundation, UMBC produces more Information Technology bachelor degree graduates than any other research university in the nation.
