UMBC'S WEB SITE WINS TWO GOLD MEDALS

Baltimore, MD - Two UMBC web sites won gold medals in the 1999 awards program for District II (Mid-Atlantic region) of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

UMBC took gold in the entire site category and tied with Cornell University for gold in the special purpose/publication category, based on myUMBC, a web portal for students, faculty and staff. The awards will be presented at the 2000 CASE District II conference in Baltimore, February 5-8. The sites will also be entered in the CASE national awards program, which will convene during the national assembly in Toronto next July.

Staff from UMBC's Office of Institutional Advancement, University Computing Services and Enrollment Services participated in these efforts. The complete list of winners includes the following:
