UMBC Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 27-28

Baltimore, Md. – UMBC alumni, students, faculty, staff and members of the community will come together on the weekend of October 27-28 for the campus' annual homecoming celebration. “Pride. Today, Tomorrow, Forever,” is the theme of this year's celebration, which is highlighted by a men's soccer game against Mt. St. Mary's (MD) and a free comedy show with Bobcat Goldthwait.

Saturday, October 27

1 p.m., UMBC Soccer Pitch
The UMBC's men's soccer team will face off against Northeast Conference rival Mt. St. Mary's in the Retrievers' final home game before the conference tournament. Cost is $3 for alumni, $5 general admission, and UMBC students and children under 12 are free.

6 p.m., Library Plaza
The UMBC community will celebrate UMBC's 35th birthday with cake and the lighting of candles atop the UMBC Library. Free of charge.

8 p.m., UMBC Ballroom
Comedy concert with Bobcat Goldthwait, who starred as “Zed” in the “Police Academy” movies and more recently served as the voice of “Mr. Floppy” in the WB series, “Unhappily Ever After.” Admission is free of charge.

Saturday, October 27

1 p.m., UMBC Soccer Pitch
The UMBC's women's soccer team will face off against Northeast Conference rival Mt. St. Mary's in the Retrievers' final home game before the conference tournament. Tickets will be available for purchase at the game.

6:30 p.m., UMBC Ballroom Lounge
UMBC will honor its outstanding volunteers. Master Phuoc Ky Pham, instructor of the UMBC Tae Kwon Do Club, will be honored for his 16 years of service to the UMBC community. During his time at UMBC, Master Pham has seen all three of his sons and daughters-in-law attend and graduate from UMBC.
