BALTIMORE – UMBC President Freeman A. Hrabowski III will deliver the keynote speech at the American Council on Education (ACE) 2007 Annual Meeting. The higher education community considers the annual address, known as the Robert H. Atwell Lecture, to be one of the year’s most important public speaking events.
The address will be delivered at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, site of the ACE Annual Meeting. Hrabowski will speak on such critical issues as access to higher education and the achievement gap.
Nancy Cantor, Chancellor and President, Syracuse University and Chair, ACE Board of Directors, is the presiding official for the Atwell Lecture. ACE President David Ward will offer welcoming remarks before Hrabowski’s address.
