BALTIMORE -- Michael Fallon, a senior lecturer of creative writing in the Department of English, was a recent guest on the Maryland Public Television (MPT) program “Direct Connection with Jeff Salkin.” He participated in a roundtable discussion regarding the 200th anniversary of the birth of poet Edgar Allan Poe.

Joining Fallon on the MPT panel were Doreen Bolger, director of the Baltimore Museum of Art, and Jeff Savoye, secretary and treasurer of the Poe Society of Baltimore.
Fallon has taught creative writing, literature, and composition at UMBC since 1985. He is also the advising coordinator for the English department and faculty supervisor of the UMBC writing labs. A widely published poet and essayist, his recent works have appeared in The American Scholar, The Antietam Review, Sin Fronteras, The Attic and The Oyez Review. His essay, Rediscovering Poe: The Mask and the Man appeared in the Summer 2008 issue of the Loch Raven Review.
