Eligible
An account status of "eligible" means that you are eligible
to register for classes, to receive diplomas, official transcripts
and other services from UMBC.
Please note that an account status of eligible does not mean
that you are eligible for Financial Aid. If you have questions
regarding your eligibility for Financial Aid, please contact the
Financial Aid office directly at (410) 455-2387 or email finaid@umbc.edu.
Ineligible
An account status of "ineligible", means that you will
not be able to register for classes, to receive diplomas, official
transcripts or other services from UMBC.
The most common reason for an account status of "ineligible",
is a past due balance on your student account at UMBC. Once the
balance has been paid in full, your account status will return to
"eligible".
- Accounts paid at the Cashier's Office update immediately to
eligible status.
- Accounts paid on line generally update to eligible status within
48 hours.
- Accounts paid directly to the Central Collection Unit (CCU)
generally update within 45 days of payment received at the agency.
If your account status is "ineligible" for a reason other
than a past due balance, the reason for the ineligibility will appear
under the word "NOTE" on the Student Billing Information
page on myUMBC. Please follow the instructions that appear
under the word "NOTE" to resolve the ineligibility.
Please note that an account status of ineligible does not mean
