Pay On-Line

HOW CAN I PAY MY BILL?

• On-line by Credit Card (MasterCard, Discover or American Express), Personal Checks or Withdrawals from Savings Accounts.
•  By mail with checks to UMBC, P.O.Box 8700
   Wilkes-Barre, PA 18773-8700.
•  In-person at the Cashier's Office with cash and checks.
•  After-hours, with checks through the Night Depository. Night Depository hours are as follows: Monday-Thursday from 4:30pm to 10:00pm, Fridays from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. The night depository is not available on weekends.
  
  Please Note:

  The Cashier's Office no longer accepts credit card payments on student accounts.
  
  Visa is no longer accepted for payments on student accounts.
  
  American Express is now accepted on-line.
  
  A convenience fee is charged on on-line credit card payments.
  
  There is no fee for on-line ACH payments.
  
  Payments are NOT accepted over the telephone.
  
  All checks must be made payable to UMBC and must reference the student's name and Campus ID.
  
  

HOW SOON WILL PAYMENTS POST TO MY ACCOUNT?

• On-line payments generally post within 2 business days of payment submission.

Late fees will not be waived based on initiation date of online payments.
Online payments are not considered received until they post to student accounts.


• Mailed payments generally post within 2 business days of receipt of payment.
• Payments made in-person at the Cashier's Office post immediately to your account.
• Night depository payments generally post 2 business days from the next business day.

• Payments received will pay prior semester debts, parking fines, tuition, board, room and other charges, in that order.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I PAY BY CHECK AND MY CHECK IS RETURNED?

• You will be charged $15 for returned checks up to $50, and $30 for returned checks over $50.
• If this is your first occurrence, you will be placed on a Cash Only List for one year. During that year you will only be able to pay with cash or credit cards.
• If another check is returned after coming off the Cash Only List, UMBC will no longer accept personal checks for payment on your account.
