MPP Enrollment

Monthly Payment Plan

Fall 2008

In our continuing effort to assist our students, UMBC offers a Monthly Payment Plan (MPP) as an alternative to payment in full. This affords you the ability to conserve your savings and budget your expenses. The MPP is administered by UMBC and enables you to pay tuition and fees as well as university room* and board on an installment basis with no interest charged. A non-refundable $50.00 enrollment fee is charged for each semester you enroll in the plan.

The University offers the MPP in the Fall and Spring semesters. The MPP is not offered in the Summer and Winter session. Fall semester enrollment is in April and the first payment for the Fall MPP is due by June 5th. Spring semester enrollment is in October and the first payment for the Spring MPP is due by November 5th.

Fall 2008 - Enrollment begins April 11, 2008. If you wish to take full advantage of the 5-payment plan, you must enroll by May 23, 2008. Enrollments received after May 23, 2008 will be scheduled for the next available plan.

UMBC no longer accepts VISA. We have added ACH & American Express as additional payment options. Please also be advised that a 2.65% convenience fee will be assessed on all credit card payments.

Regardless of the plan, you must register for courses through the regular university procedures including payment of admissions and room deposits directly to the campus. You may not budget off-campus housing, books, phone charges, utility bills, health room visit fees, late fees, library fines or parking tickets on the MPP. Students are responsible for paying all charges not covered by the MPP budget.

Please be careful when estimating your budget amount on the MPP. If your estimate is too low the balance on your student account may cause a late fee.

For questions regarding the Monthly Payment Plan, please call Advanced Education Services, Inc. at 1-800-551-2773 weekdays from 8:00am to 6:00pm EST, or email custserv@aesppm.com.

* Please note that Walker Avenue Apartments cannot be budgeted on the Monthly Payment Plan.
