1. Watch people entering the gallery to ensure nothing is stolen or damaged
2. Open and close the exhibition space at the beginning and end of the day
3. Turn on/off exhibition equipment as necessary
4. Check all equipment to ensure it works properly and inform staff of problems

Attendants are expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times and to work regular hours each week once the schedule is set. Normal gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Required skills: Attentive, watchful of all guests, friendly, and able to handle turning on/off electronic equipment for exhibitions, and follow detailed instructions.

Duties: The Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture welcomes interns for work related to exhibitions, programs, and publications. An internship may be voluntary or taken for three credits to be applied towards a major at UMBC. Work may include research directly related to exhibition, lecture, or symposium programs; mentoring and curriculum development for the K-12 education outreach programs; web/postcard/flyer development; promotional work related to CADVC’s programs; and basic administrative tasks such as labeling, data entry, and filing if necessary.
