Joe Morales

Patent Attorney, Whiteford Taylor Preston (
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2000

Mr. Joe Morales is a registered patent attorney and former National Guard helicopter pilot. He is currently an Associate at the Whiteford Taylor Preston, LLP. Prior to receiving his law degree, he worked in the Biochemistry Department of the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins, where he assisted in the study of protein interactions and the composition of the nuclear pore complex. He also worked in the biology department of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he assisted in researching bacterial gene regulation.

He is the President-Elect of the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association and is a member of several organizations like the Baltimore City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the International Trademark Association (INTA) among others.

Mr. Morales completed a BS in biochemistry and molecular biology at UMBC in 2000 and graduated in J.D (magna cum laude, Heuisler Honor Society) at the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2005.
