Howard County Making Master Teachers Program Begins!

June 2007 saw the arrival on campus of the twenty-nine teachers making up the cohort for the CHE's Makign Master Teachers in Howard County Program.  Following their one week summer program, the teachers will be returning to campus one Saturday morning a month to continue the program through-out the school year.

The project will seek to enhance primary and secondary school teachers' content knowledge of traditional American history, classroom resources, and instructional skills. Participants will attend the graduate-level Summer Institutes and Saturday Workshops for the next three years.

The staff at CHE enjoyed working with the participants immensely and looks forward to seeing them through out the year.  If you are interested in joining the program, we now have a credit option to allow teachers to join during the school year.  If you are interested in finding out more about the program, please contact us at che@umbc.edu for more information and an application packet.
