Welcome
to the UMBC Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility

The
UMBC Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility has 5 NMR
spectrometers ranging from 800MHz to 400MHz operated by the Department of
Chemistry and Biochemistry. Howard Hughes Medical Institute has three Bruker NMR spectrometers, one Avance III 800 and two
Avace III 600 which are dedicated to the
Bimolecular NMR studies. The Avance III 800
and two Avance III 600
are equipped with cryoprobe.
Two NMR spectrometers, Bruker DRX500 with cryoprobe, JEOL ECX400 are dedicated to the research
needs of graduate students and post-docs mainly focused on small
molecules. More than 30 undergraduate students use the 400 and 500
instruments each year in undergraduate research. JEOL ECX400 is used by
more than 300 students for organic chemistry lab courses annually.
