CHEM 351L and 352L are the Organic Chemistry courses in which students receive hands-on experience with modern organic synthesis, analysis and structure determination. Experiments are carried out in newly renovated laboratories with each student having generous workspace in modern well-ventilated fume hoods. Beyond experience in ‘one-step’ procedures and functional group interconversion, students ultimately graduate to multi-step syntheses and carry out structural analysis with state-of-the-art 13C- and 1H-NMR and IR spectrometers.
