The research enterprise of the Department is
centered in the Robert and Jane Meyrhoff Chemistry Building,
the research facilities of which were completely renovated over
a three year period terminating in the dedication to the Meyerhoff’s
in October 2005. Faculty, post-docs, graduate and undergraduate
students are daily engaged in a diverse array of mostly interdisciplinary
investigations that span the five major sub-disciplines of Chemistry.
While faculty maintain individual research labs, projects often
straddle the expertise of multiple investigators, ensuring tangible
technical and intellectual experience interacting with other
groups. State-of-the-art NMR, Mass Spectrometry, X-ray diffraction
and laser facilities serve all members of the Department and
students are availed of small-group and individual instrument
training to enhance and hone their expertise. As most Faculty
research is sponsored by extramural grants, equipment in individual
groups is state-of-the-art. Browse the “Research” pull-down
