FELLOWSHIPS AND ASSISTANTSHIPSVirtually all full-time graduate students in the department are supported by 12-month research or teaching assistantships or fellowships with base stipends of $21,000 for Ph.D. students and $17,000 M.S. students (plus health insurance and remission of tuition charges). While the majority of incoming students are teaching assistants, a number of special graduate fellowships are available to especially well-qualified applicants. These include, but are not limited to, fellowships awarded to students interested in the Chemistry-Biology Interface program. Many students in their second and subsequent years of graduate study, actively engaged in thesis research, are supported by research assistantships. |
