The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) ACS Student Chapter celebrates National Chemistry Week (NCW) each year with a bake sale. However, this year they decided to incorporate the theme, "Chemistry - It's Elemental" by creating the Periodic Table of the Elements out of cupcakes. It was a huge success! A crowd of people gathered as it was assembled and all of the elements were sold by the end of the first day.
Many thanks to Tara Carpenter and all the members of the ACSSA for their help in the undergraduate symposium, but also having a successful and and delicious bake sale for National chemistry week.
Congratulations to all the participants of the 12th annual undergraduate research symposium. Attendees represented over 50 institutions from 9 states and the District of Columbia. Gift certificate to the 1st and 2nd place winners will be sent soon. Keep an eye out for emails from the UMBC domain.
We appreciate the feedback we got this year and hope to see you all next fall.
