A Bayesian Approach to Understanding the Probability of Zero Rainfall

An important feature of rainfall scientists attempt to understand is how the dry and wet periods are distributed. This paper proposes a Bayesian approach to estimating the distributions of the wet and dry periods. We will also discuss the resulting distribution of the probability of non-zero rainfall over a particular length of time and how this varies at different time scales.
