The 2016 UMBC-Stanford Workshop features a one-day conference Saturday, and a half day short course on Sunday with prominent speakers from the FDA, industry, and academia. The conference opens with two plenary lectures by Dr. Estelle Russek-Cohen of the US Food and Drug Administration and Dr. Joe Heyse of Merck, on topics related to statistical innovations in regulatory science, and the role of predicting outcomes in drug development, respectively. A panel discussion will be held after plenary lectures in late morning. The afternoon program will feature multiple parallel invited sessions. A half-day short course on “Medical Product Safety Evaluation: Biological Models and Statistical Methods” offered by Drs. Jie Chen, Joe Heyse, and Ying Lu will be held on Sunday morning.

This conference provides networking opportunities for all registered participants. Saturday, lunch will be served on campus in addition to coffee breaks.

Objectives: The UMBC-Stanford Workshop series brings together regulators, academic researchers, and industry professionals to explore prominent issues of common concern, particularly those related to clinical development and regulation of biopharmaceutical products.

Target audience: Clinicians, statisticians, regulatory scientists, and other drug development professionals.

Registration: Registration fee is $240 for people who register before Sep.20, 2016 and $290 afterwards. Click here to register.
For invited speakers, organizing committees, program committees, and session chairs, UMBC and Stanford faculty and students, and FDA employees, the registration fee is waived.
Discounted registration fee ($80 before Sep.20, 2016, and $100 afterwards) is available for local participants from academia (faculty & health professionals) and agencies of federal and state government.
Cost for short Course is $160, but only $110 for those who also register for the workshop. For students with ID cards, registration fee is $20 and short course is $30.
Check or cash payment is accepted for onsite registration between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Sept. 24.
